VIPER PLAYER & PARENT EXPECTATIONS

Viper Player Expectations

 

1.     Maintain academic eligibility.

(70 or above in all classes is minimum UIL requirement, but higher scores are expected, and mandatory tutoring will be administered at the coaches discretion)

 

3.     Avoid any offenses against school rules or policies

(no detentions, office referrals, visits to ISS, etc.). Such offenses will receive team discipline which may include being removed from the team.

 

4.     Give 100% effort in practice and games.

 

5.     Represent Rodriguez Middle School with class,

dignity and pride. (No trash talking, offensive gestures, vandalism at home or away venues).

 

PARENT Expectations and Procedures

 

1.     No use of foul language in stands at home or away games, towards referees, coaches, players, fans of the other team. (Such offenses will be referred to Principal Rogers for a meeting and may be subject to suspension from games if found in violation.

 

2.     Any communication with coaches should be done according to the following guidelines:

        a.     NEVER during practice

        b.     NEVER during or after a game

        c.     Should NEVER occur in front of students

        d.     Should schedule an appointed time with

coaching staff.

 

3.     If a player is to miss practice or games a note, phone call to the school, or email should be sent. (My phone is ext. 7030 and email is [email protected])

 

4.     Be prompt in dropping off and picking up students before and after scheduled team events and games.

 

5.     Make time to participate in team functions, attend games as time and schedules permit and support the feeder High School. (Each player has an green pass that will allow them entry into all high school games free of charge.)
