The Bengals kicked off the 2022 season at the Plano ISD Invitational on Saturday August 13th. The varsity girls finished 9th out of 17 teams with freshman Macy Wingard placing 1st overall with a time of 18:07, setting a new school record. Freshman Kylie Acuna had a great first race as well finishing 11th overall.
The varsity boys picked up where they left off last year, with another strong showing finishing in 7th place out of 19 teams. The Bengals were lead by Aleksandr Acuna and Joseph Arrona who finished in 4th and 5th place. Junior Anthony Ignacio also had a very strong race finishing in 19th place and setting a new personal record.
The JV boys finished 13th overall led by sophomore Spenser Lawson, while freshman Chloe Sanchez had a great first race of the season finishing with a time of 24:14 and leading the JV girls to a 7th place finish.
The Bengals will travel to Haltom next Saturday for the Cowtown Challenge. This will be a varsity meet only. Link to results can be found below.
