The Bengals traveled to The Woodlands, TX on Saturday October 1st to compete in the Nike South Invitational. Joseph Arrona kicked things off in the Elite Boys race coming in at a time of 16:03. Joseph ran a great race on a tough course for his final tuneup before district.
The second race of the day was the Elite Girls race, which featured some of the top girls in the state. Freshman Macy Wingard placed 5th overall with a time of 17:30. With that time Macy now has one of the top ten times ever on the course at Bear Branch Park. Macy continues to show major strides as she looks to carry her success over into the championship season starting in a few week.
Luke Lopez ran in the Red Varsity Boys race and continued to impress. Luke ran a new personal best of 17:18 on an extremely tough course against some of the best runners in the state.
